We’re excited to welcome back Ms. Katrina Beddes to West Point! She’s part of our Counseling Department and a Hope Squad advisor—ready to support students both academically and personally.
With a teacher mom and counselor dad, helping students is in her DNA. Katrina loves watching students discover their “why” and grow into their potential.
Her favorite thing about being a Warrior? The supportive, family-like community. We’re lucky to have her heart and dedication back at WPJH!

¡Bienvenida de nuevo, Mrs. Marquez Lavine! She’s back at West Point teaching Spanish 1, Spanish 3, heritage Spanish, and ELD—plus she’s our new Latinos in Action advisor! 🇺🇾🇦🇷
Originally from Uruguay and raised in Argentina, her passion for teaching began while tutoring at-risk students. Now she inspires Warriors daily with her love for language, culture, and connection.
Fun fact: Though she didn’t grow up celebrating Day of the Dead, it’s now her classroom theme because of its beauty and meaning.

We’re excited to have Mrs. Katie Gabbitas returning to West Point! She’ll be teaching 7th and 8th grade ELA and advising the yearbook. Katie Gabbitas is one of the incredible educators staying at West Point Junior High, and we couldn’t be more excited! She brings energy and heart to West Point as she teaches 7th and 8th grade ELA and advises the yearbook. Inspired by her favorite teacher, Mr. Fusselman, Katie became an educator to help students love learning as much as she does.
She loves being a Warrior because West Point is her home and her people. Her favorite part of teaching is building connections with students and making a difference in their lives. And for a fun fact? She sleeps with her bed pushed up against the wall, complete with a giant pillow corner—embracing her inner kid at heart!
We’re lucky to have Katie Gabbitas continuing to bring her passion, humor, and heart to West Point!

Congratulations to West Point Jr. Boys and Girls track teams who gave their all today in the Davis School District Junior High Track meet at Davis High School this afternoon. Both Girls and Boys placed 3rd overall. We had standout performances breaking multiple school records. We couldn't be prouder of our Warriors!

On a blustery Tuesday our valiant track Warriors battled the elements and opponents in the DSD Jr. High N. End Track finals in which the WPJH boys took home 1st place and the WPJH girls took home 2nd place. We're so proud of all our Warrior track athletes and want to recognize all their hard work and dedication they've put in to this point in the season. Now it's on to the DSD Track Finals for many of our Warriors. Go Warriors!

We want to thank everyone involved in WPJH's Culture Night last night. We were treated to a night of celebration and friendship as students, former students, friends, and family shared their talents and a piece of their culture. A big THANK YOU to our LIA and MAC for sponsoring the event and to our Student Government representatives. They proved once again #Warriorsarewonderful #Shootforthestars #wearewarriors

Did you notice some strange things happening last week at West Point Junior High? We launched a Secret Underground Spirit Week 🕵️♂️, and let’s just say... the students were NOT ready! 🤯😂
🎤 Student reactions included:
❓ "Why are all my teachers acting so crazy?"
🤔 "I think the teachers are tricking us."
😩 "I just wish the teachers would stop messing with us!"
😂 "Bruh."
Meanwhile, teachers kept the fun going with excuses like:
👕 "What do you mean? I always wear this!"
🤷♂️ "Wow, other teachers are doing this too? I thought it was just me!"
😅 "I forgot to change my pants..."
From Tourist Day 🏝️ to Anything But a Cup Day 🥤🐠, the staff had an unforgettable time bringing extra fun to the week.
Check out a video of the fun week here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qIabeavOTM 😏 #UndergroundSpiritWeek #TeachersInDisguise #MakingSchoolFun
