Hello Creekside Elementary!

My name is Jenny Schow, and I will be the new principal at Creekside Elementary this year. I have heard such wonderful things about Creekside, its students, the community, and the amazing faculty and staff. I can’t wait to get to know you all!

I’d like to share a little bit about myself. I am beginning my 20th year in education. I earned my degree in Elementary and Special Education from Utah State University and started my career as a 6th grade teacher in Granite School District, where I taught for two years. When my husband and I moved north, I taught 6th grade at Syracuse Elementary for four years. I took some time away from teaching to be home with my two boys. My husband and I moved to Mississippi and then Colorado for his work, where I spent six years as a special education teacher at a middle school. We moved back to Northern Utah, and I was fortunate to return to Syracuse Elementary as a special education teacher for four years. I earned my Master’s in Educational Leadership and took a position as the Administrative Intern at Meadowbrook Elementary in 2019. In November of last year, I was asked to join the team at Foxboro Elementary to support the administrative team, staff, and students.

I grew up in southwest Wyoming, and I love movies, dogs, the Denver Broncos, the mountains, and good books. My husband and I have two sons, ages 18 and 21.

I have been fortunate to learn from amazing educators, supervisors, support staff, administrators, and specialists during my educational career. I work hard every day to focus on doing what is best for kids and supporting the people around me as they strive to do the same. I strongly believe that one of the most important things we do as educators is communicate – with students, with colleagues, and with the families who entrust their children to us. I also believe that every individual, student or adult, has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and has the potential to learn and achieve great things. It is my goal to support the students, staff, and community at Creekside as we achieve great things together.

Please reach out with any questions, concerns, or to say hello. I am so honored to join the Creekside community!

With thanks,

Jenny Schow
